The Auburn baseball team continues its 8-game road trip when they visit Knoxville, Tenn., on Thursday, Friday and Saturday to play the Tennessee Volunteers for a 3-game set at Lindsey Nelson Stadium.

The trip has produced up-and-down results for the Auburn baseball team. The Tigers won Game 1 last weekend at Texas A&M before dropping the final two games of the series. Earlier this week, Auburn beat Samford in a shootout in Birmingham, 16-15.

This will be Auburn’s final series of the season against an East Division opponent.

Auburn will send two of the nation’s top starting pitchers in Games 1 and 2 with Casey Mize and Keegan Thompson. The two were named to the 2017 Gold Spikes watch list on Wednesday by USA Baseball. Mize will take the mound in Game 1. He’s 5-1 with a 1.37 ERA and 75 strikeouts in 52.2 innings. Thompson is 4-1 with a 1.27 ERA and will start Game 2. Davis Daniel (2-2, 4.86) gets the call for Game 3. As for the Vols, they’re throwing RHP Hunter Martin (4-2, 3.56) in Game 1, followed by RHP Garrett Stallings (2-0, 3.00) and they are undecided for the finale.
